Korean BBQ Beef Bowl

March 25, 2026

(And Why the Recipe Isn't the Point)

This Korean BBQ Beef Bowl is incredible. Savory gochujang sauce, tender ground beef, fluffy white rice, topped with a perfectly cooked egg- it’s the kind of meal that makes your family think you’ve been watching too much cooking content. (You haven’t. You’ve just been in MacroFit.)

But the recipe? The recipe is not the magic.

The magic is that you don’t have to think about it.

Macro Points Per Serving: 23.2

Per Serving: 36g Protein  |  31g Carbs  |  12g Fat  |  377 Calories

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup White Rice
  2. 2 lb 96/4 Ground Beef
  3. 2 tbsp Garlic, Minced
  4. 1/2 cup Soy Sauce, Low Sodium
  5. 2.5 tbsp Gochujang Hot & Sweet Sauce
  6. 2.5 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  7. 2.5 tsp Ginger, Fresh or Paste
  8. 2.5 tbsp Honey
  9. 2.5 tsp Sesame Oil
  10. 7 Eggs (1 per serving)
  11. Green Onions (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Begin cooking 1 cup of white rice according to package directions.
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet over high heat until browned.
  3. Turn heat down to medium-low. Add 2.5 tsp ginger paste and 2 tbsp minced garlic. Stir to combine.
  4. Add 1/2 cup soy sauce, 2.5 tbsp Gochujang, 2.5 tbsp rice vinegar, 2.5 tbsp honey, and 2.5 tsp sesame oil. Stir and let simmer for a few minutes.
  5. While beef simmers, cook your eggs to preference. (Personally? Over easy. Trust the process.)
  6. Optional: chop green onions and sprinkle over the top of the dish.
  7. To serve: plate 1/7th of the beef mixture (about 140g) over 1/7th of the cooked rice (about 80g) and top with 1 egg.
